5.5. Cleaning and Keeping of Printing Plate

Cleaning the ink perfectly for changing color is the impossible: the ink has soaked into the grain of the plywood board. Pay attention when using bright colors: the colors would be mixed.

Keeping the printing plate for next print is possible: apply gum arabic solution in condition leaving the ink on the part of image. It is better to size again before applying gum arabic solution but do not use any powder like talcum powder and resin: the powders absorb size, make solid and stick to image, as the case may be, the part of the image would not attract the ink.

Besides, durability of the plywood printing plate is not high and unable to print a lot of edition. This technique is suitable for a single-use; still, it is good enough for producing original graphic art which the completion form as the work is the print.
